radical enduro - castle combe.

The Radical Enduro championship moved to Wiltshire and Castle Combe for event 4. The Bruichladdich Radical team were planning to recover a few lost points from Pembrey.

Morning practice and Qualifying proved a big challenge as the setup didn't like the combe bumps, a limp damper didn't help matters either. 3rd position was the grid slot for both races with the main championship rival a place ahead. The team planned some big setup changes over night to enhance there pace.

Moseley took to the start for race 1 and the gamble of the radical car setup. The SR8's screamed towards the lights for the start and away they shot up the hill towards Avon rise. Moseley took no prisoners as he slipped to the left of Andy Demitriou and then in the same move to the right of Nick Dove. The cars completed lap 1 with Quaife being chased by Moseley for the lead, the battle continued for a further 7 laps until the Bruchladdich Radical snatched the lead in traffic. Quaife continued to chase but Moseley's new setup was obviously working extremely well as he started to open up a gap over the following 6 laps. Disaster struck as Stuart headed into the first chicane, the wiring had started to work loose from the starter motor and then shorted out on the exhaust. The car eventually ground to a halt before the end of the lap regardless of Stuarts efforts to limp the car into pitlane.

Race 2 was a different story though when Greaves made the start in tricky conditions, he held a good 3rd place until spinning somewhere out the back of the circuit in traffic. However the Bruchladdich car only dropped to 6th briefly as Greaves flying pace got him back to 3rd within a few laps. Moseley climbed in and started to gain on the leaders at 3 seconds a lap. The gap was 32 seconds... big challenge! The flag dropped with Moseley 2nd only 3 seconds adrift.... .

A painfull event considering the non finish but with the other drivers issues the Bruchladdich car has moved into 2nd in the championship. The championship moves to Silverstone in July.
