radical enduro - pembrey.
Stuart Moseley and Tim Greaves continued there task to win the Radical Enduro Championship over the weekend by Stuart setting pole position by one tenth of a second from former Peugeot touring car driver Eugene O’Brian in extremely poor weather conditions.
Race 1 started with Greaves at the wheel managing to hold a steady lead after the turn one carnage. The Quaife car of Atkins chased hard for 10 laps till eventually taking the lead. Unfortunately Greaves had tomake an extra pit stop for minor adjustments. A few laps later Greaves was back in for the driver change where he picked up a stop and go penalty for speeding in the pit road. Shortly after Stuart hit the track he was back in to serve the stop and go penalty that his co driver had earned. The final charge Stuart gave allowed the Bruichladdich car to chase up the order, eventually taking 4th place.
The radical team worked hard on the Bruichladdich car preparing it for race 2, where again they would start from pole position. Greaves took the start and held the lead for the first few laps before the rear tyres started to over heat and 3 places were lost. Moseley prepared himself in the pits, helmet on and waiting as the Radical SR8 came in for the standard driver change. The team produced a super slick stop but all went horribly wrong when the engine would not re-fire. The seconds ticked away as eventually the RPA V8 cracked into life and Moseley was away. Unfortunately the time lost was too huge for Stuart to catch, but a well earned 6th was a welcome relief regarding championship points.
The Radical Enduro Series moves to Castle Combe in June for rounds 7 & 8.
